Crankshaft

"Crankshaft" or "crank arm" is the part that transmits the energy gained by the reciprocating motion of the piston in internal combustion engines to the engine shaft and converts it into rotary motion. Mechanisms formed to convert one type of motion into another, form the "crank mechanism".
